In 2002, the “Yiwu Commodities Fair” was upgraded as an international commodities fair and was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the People's Government of Zhejiang province, China Council for the promotion of International Trade, China National Light Industry Council and the China General Chamber of Commerce jointly. Aiming at “Facing the World and Serving the Country”, due to its distinct features, prominent internationalization, convenient information access, perfect services system as well as sound security and sanitation, the Yiwu Commodities Fair has duly established its fame as a quality exhibition and is regarded as the third largest fair behind the Canton Fair and East China Fair domestically.
