You should have heard about stock indexs, like the DJIA ,S&P500, NASDAQ composite index , but have you have about small commodity index .maybe not . but that index really exists and is in the chinese small commodity hub of YIWU .you don't know it because it is not yet famous,and is listed in just a few months.and i have read an article mainly about its future development and its relationship with the Yiwu market.i found it's meaningful . so i am gonna to write some thing about it .the author mentioned a question that best described the Yiwu Business situation . that's "come and buy", which means buyer come to yiwu to buy merchandise while sellers do nothing than site in their stores and wait for customers .if so, how can the Yiwu index represents the small commodity price of china , not to mention the world .To be an index, you must be influential .so the author suggested a solution.set up branches around the country,with company sales headquarter base in yiwu .thus the price of the commodities can be fixed in Yiwu .this model is much like a supermarket chain.The second issue mentioned by the author is ambitious, the yiwu small commodity price index should transformed to yiwu commodity index , with the word "small "excluded .the meaning becomes broad , thus represents more catergories of commodity type product . but only happens under the condition of the success of phase. this is because you have the selling network builded around the country .why can't you add more product categories to your market .these includes electronic consumption items, autoparts ,so on.when this happens , yiwu will be like other commodity hubs ,such as dubai . and the index has a deep meaning .the last point the auther talked about is Yiwu should be a world trade platform . if a Southkorea maker or japanese maker want to sell his products to Euro or US，he come here for selling , when an American producer want to sell his products in Asia .Yiwu will be his best market place .only then Yiwu index will become a truely influential index . and the influence power of its commodity price will be like the crude oil price of NYMEX .
